A low confidence betting race as the fav looked extremely hard to beat so there was little value to be found. Our play was the boxed First 4; we had 4 of the top 6 who all finished within 1.5L of the winner so we weren’t far off the mark…

2021 SYDNEY CUP

Making up for an incredible run of seconds, we got the big one here! Selino was out of favour in the lead up and cold in the market which allowed us to secure a $31 winner. Fantastic ride by Ron Stewart, offsetting the barrier early and making the bold, correct move at the 700m mark. There is no better than Chris Waller over two miles at Randwick. Our Top 8 sent for exotics (not officially recorded) filled the First 4 which paid between $10k – $27k across the totes. A fantastic result.

2021 DONCASTER MILE

Our main play Mugatoo loomed at the 200m and looked the winner, however just petered out late. Maybe the top weight anchored him but we are back to the drawing board with the Doncaster. The two three year olds got back too far in the run and in general do seem of an inferior standard this season.
